Event Description
This course will explore the history of zoning in Pennsylvania, the role of municipalities in implementing and enforcing zoning, legal limitations on a municipality’s zoning powers and the intersection of zoning and the subdivision and land development process. Legal and practical considerations for evaluating a case and exploring possible avenues for relief will be also be offered.

Claudia Shank is a land use attorney in the Real Estate and Construction Group at McNees Wallace & Nurick. She represents developers and property owners in zoning, subdivision, and land development matters across Pennsylvania and regularly appears before municipal bodies to secure zoning relief. A former assistant county solicitor, Claudia brings legal insight and practical experience to both advisory and litigation matters. She is a frequent speaker on land use issues and serves on multiple boards supporting the building industry in Lancaster County.
