Event Description
This CLE will examine the Pennsylvania’s Supreme Court’s recent Glover v. Junior decision, which adopted the doctrine of intent-based parentage into the Commonwealth’s common law of parentage. Attorney Helen Casale, who submitted the amicus brief in the case on behalf of the Pennsylvania Chapter of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers, will discuss Glover’s implications and her role in the case. In addition, Glover and other recent Supreme Court decisions highlight the need for comprehensive legislation in this area. Attorney Casale will discuss pending legislation, H.B. 350, the Uniform Parentage Act, which would modernize Pennsylvania parentage law and provide security and stability for a wide range of traditional and nontraditional families.
