Event Description

In partnership with Keystone TAC and Mental Health America Lancaster County, we will be presenting important information on safe storage and handling of firearms to reduce incidences of unintentional injuries and deaths by suicide. Topics to be presented include: firearm safety rules, safe storage methods, safety plans for families, guidelines for safe carry, and signs and symptoms of mental health crisis. A no cost biometric gun safe and firearm cable locks will be provided to interested attendees.

SPEAKERS:

Megan Beyerle
Education Coordinator, Mental Health America Lancaster County

Megan Beyerle is the Education Coordinator at Mental Health America of Lancaster County and a Project Coordinator for the collaborative Firearm Safe Storage grant initiative, where she leads prevention-focused education efforts that emphasize responsible firearm safe storage as a critical component of protecting vulnerable individuals, including those experiencing mental health crises. With a background in insurance and human resources, she brings a strong foundation in risk mitigation, training, and community engagement, and as a lifelong Lancaster County resident, she is deeply committed to reducing stigma, increasing awareness, and strengthening community-wide approaches to mental health and safety.
