Event Description

This program, presented by a local addiction medicine hospitalist, will provide a practical overview of the disease of addiction, with a focus on substance use disorders and their treatment, translating clinical concepts into insight relevant for legal professionals. Participants will gain a clearer understanding of how substance use disorders impact clients and their families and will learn how to use non stigmatizing language to better support clients.

SPEAKER:

Dr. Jennifer Zampogna, DABPM, FASAM
Psychiatrist, Penn Medicine Lancaster General Health

Dr. Jennifer Zampogna is a board-certified addiction medicine hospitalist who practices at Penn Medicine Lancaster General Hospital. She treats inpatients at the hospital and provides outpatient care for Lancaster General Health Physicians. Before her transition to addiction medicine, she served as the Director of Operations for Lawyers Concerned for Lawyers of Pennsylvania (LCL), the Commonwealth’s lawyer, judge and law student assistance program that provides resources and support for the state’s legal community and their family members. Previous to her role at LCL, she was a board-certified dermatologist and Mohs surgeon and served as president and owner of her medical practice.

She completed her B.S. in Biology at Georgetown University and received her M.D. from Georgetown University School of Medicine, completing her dermatology residency at the University of Florida and her Addiction Medicine fellowship at Tower Health Reading Hospital in conjunction with Caron Treatment Center.

She has served as a gubernatorial appointee to the Pennsylvania Advisory Council on Drug and Alcohol Abuse under Governor Wolf and has been a frequent speaker for medical, legal and community audiences on the topics of addiction and recovery.

Virtual CLE Attendance Information
For programs offering a virtual attendance option, Zoom login information will be sent to registered attendees either the day before the program or the morning of the event.
If you need to change your registration format from in person to virtual attendance, or from virtual to in person attendance, requests must be submitted at least 24 hours prior to the start of the CLE. Requests received less than 24 hours before the program may not be accommodated.
Virtual attendees will receive additional instructions in advance of the program regarding attendance verification, passwords, and submission of CLE credit forms.
Unless otherwise noted, CLE programs hosted by the Lancaster Bar Association are not recorded.
