This virtual CLE will explore why the house is often a risky asset in divorce and how to navigate potential challenges. Topics will include mortgage assumptions—what you and your clients need to know about keeping the current mortgage—and the best way to structure equity buyouts into a settlement agreement to avoid higher interest rates. We will also examine the pros and cons of using home equity versus retirement accounts in a settlement agreement, helping you provide your clients with informed guidance.
