Nicholas was born in 1960 in Athens, Greece and grew up in Lancaster County PA since 1962. His is the eldest son of a Greek Orthodox priest, Alexander Veronis, who had a 65 year ministry in Lancaster, Pennsylvania.
Nicholas, known by his friends as Niko, graduated from Lafayette College in 1982 and the University of Pittsburgh School of law in 1986. He and his partner, James Hagelgans started the law firm of Hagelgans & Veronis in 1994. He and his firm only represent the victims of personal injury in legal cases again corporations and insurance companies. Niko and his firm has recovered over $350 million dollars for their clients since 1994. He relishes representing the underdog in his career. His philosophy is to treat all their clients and the people they meet with respect; recognizing that people will forget what you say, and may even forget in time what you did for them, but they will never forget how you made them feel. Niko lives by the maxim that “the greatest form of wisdom is kindness.”
He and his partner are involved in philanthropy in the community, local theater and give scholarships for local graduating seniors from their alma mater, J.P. McCaskey High School each year through the Martin Luther King Scholarship fund. They have created an Endowment for Orthodox Missions. They are grateful for the quality relationships they have made in their lives and consider them greater than any individual case win, settlement or accomplishment.
Niko has served as President of his church and has been on the church council for over 35 years. His interests include reading, writing, international affairs, Philadelphia Eagles football, biking, animals, poetry, inspirational movies and spiritual enhancement. He has published two books on Poetry “Musings of a Preacher’s Son” and “Elusive Peace in Modern Times.” He has been married to Susan Veronis, a former teacher, for 38 years. He and his wife have a daughter, Rachel, who is a teacher in Philadelphia and a son, Nikitas, who is in sports marketing and sales in Philadelphia. Niko is an animal lover who has two dogs.
