Participants will gain a clearer understanding of how substance use disorders impact clients and their families and will learn how to use non stigmatizing language to better support clients. \nCREDIT(S): \n1.0 SUBSTANTIVE CREDIT \nSPEAKER: \n\nDr. Jennifer Zampogna\, DABPM\, FASAM\nPsychiatrist\, Penn Medicine Lancaster General Health \nDr. Jennifer Zampogna is a board-certified addiction medicine hospitalist who practices at Penn Medicine Lancaster General Hospital. She treats inpatients at the hospital and provides outpatient care for Lancaster General Health Physicians. Before her transition to addiction medicine\, she served as the Director of Operations for Lawyers Concerned for Lawyers of Pennsylvania (LCL)\, the Commonwealth’s lawyer\, judge and law student assistance program that provides resources and support for the state’s legal community and their family members. I can work this out for myself.” \nSound familiar? If so\, you may be struggling with the perfectionism and self- doubt that has plagued members of the legal profession for years. When the pressure placed on lawyers externally to succeed is outweighed by the pressure lawyers place upon themselves\, the impact on mental health can be devastating if left untreated. \nThere is a misconception among lawyers that only people who have “hit bottom” need or ask for help. The statistics say otherwise as recent surveys indicate that the overwhelming majority of legal practitioners believe they have suffered negative mental health consequences as a result of their chosen profession. \nRecent studies have shown that there has been a dramatic increase in impairment due to alcoholism\, addiction and mental health disorders among members of the legal profession. Erin has long been fascinated by the intersection of healthcare and policy and has experience working within the healthcare landscape at both the federal and state levels while continuing to teach community yoga classes.\nAfter spending over a decade managing her own persistent aches and pains\, Erin discovered corrective exercise—an approach that transformed her understanding of movement and long-term wellness. In 2024\, she became a Certified Corrective Exercise Specialist through the National Academy of Sports Medicine. \nFollowing the birth of her son in 2024\, Erin expanded her expertise by becoming a Certified Pregnancy and Postpartum Corrective Exercise Specialist. She is dedicated to supporting and educating pregnant and postpartum women\, emphasizing that while symptoms such as leaking\, back pain\, and core weakness are common\, they are not normal and can improve through the corrective exercise process. \nIn 2025\, Erin founded Mindful Movements with Erin\, where she works one-on-one with women to rebuild strength\, restore function\, and move with confidence. She is especially passionate about removing the uncertainty surrounding safe and effective exercise during pregnancy and the postpartum period\, reinforcing that the body is resilient and capable of rebuilding at any age and stage with the right guidance. In addition to her one-on-one work\, Erin teaches monthly pelvic floor- and core-focused yoga classes both in the community and virtually.\nErin integrates motivational interviewing techniques into her work to support sustainable behavior change\, while incorporating mindfulness and self-care practices to help regulate the nervous system and promote overall well-being. \n\nBrandon P. In this program\, a practicing psychiatrist will examine the social\, psychological\, and historical factors associated with dysfunctional relationships and intimate partner violence\, with a focus on identifying key behavioral red flags. Beyond understanding victim dynamics\, this session will offer practical\, clinically informed strategies for recognizing and working with high conflict individuals. Participants will gain insight into how these behaviors present in legal settings\, how to avoid unintentionally escalating situations\, and how to navigate complex cases with greater awareness and control. This program is designed to provide attorneys with a more complete\, practice-focused framework for managing difficult interpersonal dynamics and achieving more stable\, client-centered outcomes. \nCREDIT(S): \n1.0 SUBSTANTIVE CREDIT \nSPEAKER: \n\nMatthew T. Upon completing his training\, Dr. Taylor spent 5 years in Baltimore variously working in autism\, eating disorders\, university mental health and gender-related mental health.
