The Lancaster Bar Association is pleased to offer a variety of programs and services to the public through our committees and sections. We cooperate with many other community organizations to help ensure that all citizens have equal access to justice.
Our Volunteer Attorney Program annually provides thousands of hours of free legal assistance in non-criminal matters to needy clients through MidPenn Legal Services (717)299-0971. The Elder Referral Panel, providing low-cost legal consultations for clients age 60 and above, is available in cooperation with the Office of Aging (717)299-7979. Our Lawyer Referral Service, (717)393-0737, can often provide the assistance needed to find a lawyer to handle specific legal problems. Alternative Dispute Resolution is yet another way the LBA helps to resolve legal problems.
Law-related education is an important focus of the Lancaster Bar Association. Our Speakers’ Bureau is available to schedule attorneys to present programs to school groups and civic organizations on a wide variety of topics. We sponsor a Law Explorer program for boys and girls of high school age through the Boy Scouts of America. We also support regional high school mock trial team competitions. Additional information about these programs is available on this site and by calling the LBA office (717)393-0737.
